Foundation Factory was built on grit, recovery, and a deep love for the strongman community.

What started as one guy trying to take control of his health turned into a full-blown obsession with strength. After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and losing weight too fast, a blown ACL during a game of laser tag kicked off a grueling recovery—three rehab sessions a day. That process laid the groundwork for something bigger.

Then came strongman.

It started with watching The Strongest Man in History, then buying a log, then walking into a strongman event in Sheboygan just to see what it was all about. From that day forward, training had a purpose.

Foundation Factory began with a single t-shirt design—"Grip It and Ribbit"—and quickly grew from there. What began as a way to save on home gym equipment turned into sourcing gear in bulk, designing strength-focused apparel, and eventually creating and selling our own strongman equipment like sandbags, liquid chalk, and more.

Founded in 2021, Foundation Factory is still a one-person operation driven by passion, function, and a bit of humor. Whether you’re here for the gear or the community, you’re part of something built with intention—and a whole lot of callused hands.
